Let’s put an end to poverty in early marriage
This story starts on January 14, 2011. We met at the Utah boat show. Mary Ann being a friendly old bird started taking with Travis about a business venture he was involved in, but that is not where the sparks started to fly. Two years went by and we saw each other in passing a few times, but with both of us being in relationships, there was no interest until Monday June 16th, 2013. After seeing pictures from Travis's weekend camping trip with friends. Mary Ann asked if he "knew anyone who wanted to camp on Tuesday". Always looking for a good adventure Travis and Mary Ann headed up to Lake Blanche in big cottonwood canyon. Things were a wee bit awkward for the two of them, not knowing each other’s “Status” we kept a little distance. After loosening up with swimming in the lake we set up camp. Chit chatting about chicken noodle soup for the alcoholic soul over a fire, there was some interest in each other. From that night on they have been inseparable. For the next year Travis and Mary Ann have had the opportunity to travel and grow together in multiple countries. They have traveled to South America, Central America, Australia and all over The States together. One year to the date after they had their first camping date, Travis took Mary Ann back up to the same lake, only this year we were hit by a snow storm on June 17th, 2014. Mary Ann fought for over two hours to not go, but Travis had bigger plans than to just go on a hike and camp. He had a plan to ask for her love and heart forever. Soaking wet, and hiking 3.8 miles in two feet of snow they reached the lake where they spent their first night together. Stopping for a quick lunch Travis pulled out a box and got down on one knee..."She didn't know what was going on, I told her I brought her up here for a reason" With a straight face he grabbed her hand and asked and asked " Mary Ann... Will you... uhm... will you.. go fishing with me" and opened up a box with a fishing fly. After she accepted and gave him a hard time, he pulled out another box and opened up ring and asked for her hand in marriage.
